Add translations: now also in installment plans

MKG is used in various countries and languages, and even within a company users may have different preferred languages. To facilitate internationalization, it is now possible to add translations to data. This allows you as a user to read and search the contents of tables in your own system language, based on translations provided by MKG and/or customized by yourself. And if documents need to be sent to customers, you can send the data in the customer's language.

For some time now, translations could already be added to payment terms, delivery terms, and shipping methods. We have now extended this to installment plans and installment plan lines.

 

Setup

A 'Translations' tab has been added to the Detail of the Installment Plans module where translations can be viewed, added, and/or modified. Any user can do this, provided you are authorized by your administrator. Such a tab is also available on installment plan lines.

When creating new sales orders and sales quotes, the installment plans and installment plan lines are now displayed in the user's system language (this is the language in which you use MKG). You can now also search in those fields using the translated terms. Fields containing information about installment plan lines used in communication to the customer (order confirmation or quote) are now translated into the language set on the sales order or quote (by default the language of the debtor). If you do not enter translations, the fields will be displayed everywhere in Dutch, as has been the case until now.

 

Usage

1. Go to the Installment Plans module.
2. Select a schedule, for example '3 installments 30-40-30'.
3. Go to Detail » 'Translations' tab. Here all languages configured in the Language Codes module are displayed.
4. Ensure the Description field is present on the tab. You can add this using the Field Selector (right-click in the list » List settings » Field Selector...). Or, if you already have this view, you can open it via the Views
   button.
5. You can now fill in the Description field per language for the selected plan. You can also leave the fields empty.
6. Go to the 'Lines' tab and select a line of your installment plan, for example '30% order value upon acceptance'.
7. Go to Detail » 'Translations' tab.
8. Open the 'Description 1, 2 and 3' view. You can now fill in 3 descriptions per language for the selected installment plan line. You can also leave the fields empty.
9. Fill in translations for all desired installment plans, installment plan lines, languages, and descriptions.

Once you have done this, you will see that when executing the Installment Plan Template in the Sales Quotes and Sales Orders modules, the installment plans are displayed in the language in which you use MKG. You can now also search on the translated terms there. When an installment plan is created, you will see the corresponding installment plan lines appear in the 'Installments' tab in the language of the sales order/quote (by default the language of the debtor). These translated lines also appear on the sales order, sales quote, and sales invoice.

 

Set the language of the preview In a sales order or sales quote, you can select a language on the 'General' tab (default is the language of the debtor) in which this order should be shown in the preview display.

 

 

Please note! The system language is the language in which the user uses MKG. You can choose this language at the bottom left of the screen.
