Block warehouse locations separately
Previously, a warehouse location could only be fully blocked or restricted through automatic reservation. This made it impossible to control receipts, reservations, and issues separately. This was a limitation in situations where stock was physically present but (temporarily) could not be used in all process steps. Especially in quarantine processes, quality controls, and temporary blocks, this led to limited flexibility, workarounds, and an increased chance of errors in the process.
What is new?
We have expanded the configuration of warehouse locations with additional blocking settings. These settings are available on the warehouse location and work together with the existing blocking settings:
- Block receiving: If active, receipt at this warehouse location is not allowed. This block is checked during Goods receipt and Production completion reporting.
- Block reservation: If active, reserving batches at this warehouse location is not allowed (batches remain visible but cannot be selected). Automatic reservation takes this block into account.
- Block issuing: If active, issuing from this warehouse location is not allowed. Direct issuing and processing via the Picklist are blocked.
- Block automatic reservation: The functional operation remains unchanged. The field has been renamed from 'Do not allow auto-reservation'.
Relationship with 'Block'
If 'Block' is set to true, all underlying blocks are automatically activated. The underlying blocks cannot then be adjusted individually. If 'Block' is set to false, all underlying blocks are automatically deactivated. Underlying blocks can then be set individually. Manually activating all underlying blocks does not automatically activate 'Block'.
