Configuring Graph Mail integration in MKG
Requirements
App registration in Microsoft Entra
An app registration in Entra is required. Follow the instructions described in the article Graph Mail integration: technical setup. For a successful connection, the following data from the app registration must be available and shared with the person configuring the connection in MKG:
- Tenant ID
- Client ID
Permissions on a (shared) mailbox (if applicable)
To send email messages via MKG, a Microsoft® 365 mailbox is used. A personal mailbox is in most cases already correctly configured and usually requires no additional actions. When a shared mailbox (e.g., invoice@contoso.com) is used, it must be verified in the Microsoft® 365 Exchange Admin Center whether the involved users have the required permissions, such as Send As and – if necessary – Full Access.

Access to the MKG environment
To configure an app registration within the MKG application, the user must have the 'administrator' role. This role grants access to the settings where external connections can be registered. An administrator can enter the required data, such as the Tenant ID and Client ID, and has the authority to activate and manage the connection. Because this action affects data exchange and security within MKG, it is important that it is performed by a user with sufficient rights and insight into the technical and functional impact of the integration.
Configuring Entra app registration in MKG
Follow the steps below to link an app registration used by MKG users via the user interface. This connection activates the Microsoft Graph Mail integration, allowing email messages to be sent directly from MKG via Microsoft Graph Mail. The integration also supports the latest Microsoft Outlook version.
Step 1: Sign in
Open the MKG client and sign in with a user who has the 'administrator' role.
Step 2: Configure the administration settings
Open the Administration Settings and select the form 'Graph Email (8303)'. Now fill in the data from the Microsoft® Entra app registration as follows:
- Client ID: enter the unique identification code of the registered application.
- Tenant ID: enter the ID of the Microsoft® 365 tenant in which the app is registered.
- Email SSO: enable this option to use the existing Microsoft 365 sign-in session on the workstation. When this setting is activated, the user within MKG no longer needs to perform separate authentication to send email messages via Microsoft Graph Mail.
