Automatic forecast generation
Because forecast explosions were previously not built automatically and had to be managed manually, there was often insufficient insight into total production and purchasing needs. The risk of inconsistent processing of delivery date changes or quantities and of lingering 'orphan' production orders therefore remained. MKG did not have a uniform way to remove or rebuild forecast structures.
That is now available. With the introduction of a fully integrated forecast functionality in both the client and the API, where automatic construction, removal, and replanning are standardized, you can now automatically build, manage, and remove a complete forecast structure from the sales or production order.
Exploding forecast
On the sales order line and on the production order line, you will find the button Explode Forecast. In the sales order, a pop-up appears where you can choose the options 'Explode', 'Remove Explosion', or 'Apply Changes'. Applying a change, for example in the delivery date, order quantity, or order unit, is done per line.
In the production order, a complete forecast structure for both materials and underlying subassemblies is built via Explode Forecast, in which the planning is also fully included. If an explosion already exists, it is first removed. Loop detection prevents circular references.
The Remove Explosion button on the production order line ensures that the entire structure of the forecast end product is removed. Linked purchase orders remain intact.
Production Overview
On the form 'Production Overview (8002)' in the production order, you get a complete overview of all components, including underlying production order subassemblies, PC materials, PC operations, and planning operations. A Gantt view of the planning completes the overview.
